Happy 4th of July

Betsy celebrates the 4th of July at Aunt Jane's Farm.

Daddy!

Betsy is reunited with Daddy at Jane's Farm in Ohio after a two week visit to Oma, Opa and Nate in Sault Sainte Marie, MI. She was sure happy to see him!

Last Day at Oma & Opa's

So many happy and memorable times with Betsy this week! Today's highlight was the tractor ride with Opa. (She was not sure at first that she wanted Opa to start the motor, but as soon as the neighbor boys showed up for their rides Betsy was ready to go!)

July 1--Canada Day!

Today was Canada Day. Plans to go to Sugar Island to watch the fireworks were canceled due to rain. Still managed a little time outside before the showers fell. Skype calls from Nonna and Daddy were a happy way to end the day.

Today had it's ups and downs--mostly ups.

Another rainy day with more indoor time than outdoor. Oma went for a hair cut at nap time and Betsy resisted napping for Opa as long as she could, but finally conked out in a rather uncomfortable-looking position. When Nate returned home after work in the afternoon, Betsy ran to the door calling, "Oma!", but when she saw it was Nate she instantly threw herself to the ground in a brief fit. Sink/water play and bath, games with Opa, a wagon ride to Bergsma's house and stories with Oma ended the day on a much happier note. (Note: Story books were ones Ben wrote and illustrated as a 6th grader and highschooler. Betsy loved them both!)

Busy Day

The day started out rainy, so we stayed inside and baked rhubarb pie and cookies, and made a batch of freezer jam. When the sun came out we checked to see if the strawberries were ripe yet--and sampled the first red berry of the season. Then finally play time at the church nursery while we visited with friends. A brief unhappy moment at the end of a long day, but Betsy still managed some happy smiles at bedtime.

CG started the morning while the coffee brewed, pink outfit and her own purse for church. DeeDee came for the afternoon playtime and the Garlinghouse boys kept busy in evening church nursery.
